ALL PARADE PARTICIPANTS MUST BE AT PROPER ASSEMBLY AREA BY 8:30 A.M. RODEO PARADE STARTS PROMPTLY AT 10:00 A.M. , SATURDAY, MAY 17, 2008 HEADQUARTERS: California at Shasta Streets

ASSEMBLY AREA: California, Center and Shasta Streets
    Parade map with your number on it will be mailed to you by May 8th. Be sure to bring your map showing entry number on Saturday because without it, you will not be permitted to parade.
GENERAL RULES FOR ALL ENTRANTS:
    ALL ENTRIES MUST HAVE AN ENTRY NUMBER. THERE IS NO ENTRY FEE. No alcohol permitted in staging area or parade rout. Nothing whatsoever will be thrown or handed from entries, including water. Maximum height of any entry is 17 feet. Any entry not able to parade must notify Chamber of Commerce by 2:00 p.m., May 15th, 2005. All entries must maintain an interval of 50 feet from the entry ahead. If any entry stalls or stops, the parade will move around it. Parade Officials have authority to remove a stalled or stopped entry. Forward motion maneuvers only are permitted – no stopping. Any entry not completing the route as a complete unit will be disqualified. Commercial display of products or services and politics prohibited. FLOATS:
    All floats must be fully decorated. JUDGING WILL START PROMPTLY AT 8:00 A.M. A WARNING from the Redding Fire Department: Floats must use flame retardant paper ( or treated) in the construction of all entries and loose hay, straw, paper, sawdust and like, must be treated. No open flame devices will be allowed. A currently serviced fire extinguisher, size 2A10BC or larger must be readily available. Inspections will be made the morning of the parade by the Redding Fire Department. Floats will assemble on California Street; approach from north via Market Street, west on Trinity Street, go two blocks and turn right (north) on Center Street. Look for yellow shirts for further directions and staging.
BANDS, MAJORETTES and MARCHING ENTRIES:
    ASSEMBLE PROMPTLY BY 9:00 A.M. There may be some prejudging for Majorettes only. Your Assemble Area is Shasta Street. If by bus, approach via Oregon Street or Court Street. Bands will play continuously, with no more than eight (8) complete cadences between selections. Maintain forward motion at all times!
MOUNTED ENTRIES:
    UNLOADING, PREPARATION AND JUDGING AREA: Immediately south of Rodeo Arena. You will then ride to the Assembly Area on Center Street after judging and line up numerically. Parade Officials will have authority to dismiss any person who has not properly groomed his entry or any person who is unable to control his horse or who is disorderly himself. JUDGING WILL START PROMPTLY AT 8:00 A.M. at the Rodeo Grounds. Entrants will be judged using C.S.H.A. Parade Rules as a guideline.
MOTOR VEHICLES:
    Entrants will be judged by Horseless Carriage Club of America and Contemporary Historical Vehicle Association rules. Your Assembly Area is Trinity Street between California and Market Streets. JUDGING WILL START PROMPTLY AT 8:30 A.M. No more than twenty (20) vehicles per group entry will be allowed.
PARADE ROUTE:
    Via CALIFORNIA STREET South to SACRAMENTO STREET, East to PINE STREET, North to YUBA STREET, East to LIBERTY STREET, North to BUTTE STREET. AWARDING OF TROPHIES will be immediately at the conclusion of the parade at one of the following two locations: 1. Mounted Units: Asphalt Cowboy Clubhouse at Rodeo Grounds. 2. Floats, Bands, Majorettes, Novelty Groups and Cars: Judges Reviewing Stand at Placer and Pine Streets. CASH AWARDS will be mailed. THE DECISION OF AWARDS BY THE JUDGES IS FINAL.

MAKE SURE EVERY PERSON IN YOUR ENTRY KNOWS THEIR STAGING AREA & NUMBER
